Evergreen Gold only stocks quality items, many of these are vintage and so will display some signs of age or use related deterioration or wear. Items are described as accurately and as transparently as possible, so please fully read the description and view the photographs prior to purchase to make sure that the item meets your needs. Thank you.
These 3 lovely bowls are around 80-100 years old and were made by Soho Pottery at their Cobridge works. At the time of listing, other items in the range are available on separate listings in the shop. The pattern is called 'Montauban' on this piece, although it is sometimes called 'Basket' on other items with the same pattern. These lovely old bowls are in the rarer black and white design with gold. Please note these are old pieces of collectable pottery and they do show signs of age related deterioration and wear and tear.
The bowls are made of earthenware with a high gloss white glaze and a transfer pattern, finished with a gold gilding. All 3 have lost some of their gold gilding in places and there are a few very small glaze chips here and there. One bowl has a larger chip on the underside of the rim which is not easily visible from the front. All three show widespread superficial crazing in the glaze and there are also a few dark inclusions in the glaze from the time of manufacture. Two of the bowls show some discolouration in the bottom of the bowls. I have tried to show all these aspects in the photographs.
Each bowl holds approximately 410ml to the start of the pattern and measure 26.3cm across the widest part. They stand 4.3cm tall.
This listing is for the set of 3 bowls only. All other items in the photographs are for display or size comparison purposes only and are not included.
Please look at all of the photographs and the video as these form part of the description and help to show scale, colour and condition.
