Elegant and lovely quality vintage small cut glass vase. This is a lovely little vase which is likely to be from the 1970's, although there is no maker's mark present. The vase is delicate and elegant in style, but made of heavy thick glass. It would be practical and stable for use with small sprays of fresh or dried flowers or heavy single exhibition or specimen blooms. The large bloom shown in the photograph is a freshly picked peony.
The vase features a facetted design on the exterior and a sunburst array of cuts beneath the base of the vase. These catch the light and add sparkle.
It would be a perfect size for use as an unobtrusive table centre and would fit on an afternoon tea tray or narrow shelf or window sill, but it can also be used with willowy grasses etc to create a larger scale airy display, despite its compact size.
It measures approximately 17cm in height with a bore depth of 15.5cm and has a nice thick base for stability which measures 5cm diameter across the widest part of the base. The vase then curves outwards before narrowing again towards the top. The mouth of the vase measures approximately 3.4cm in diameter with an internal diameter of 2.6cm.
Overall the vase is in very good vintage condition with some minor water marking inside the vase from past use.
