  • Details
A lovely vintage small plant pot holder believed to date from the 1960's and made by Scheurick Keramik of West Germany. This pretty little pot is a lovely mixture of textures and colours and it is the perfect size for putting on the window sill or on a small shelf without taking up too much room. It fits a large supermarket herb pot perfectly and has a lovely retro style about it. There are no holes in the base so this does not need a saucer. It is stamped with the maker's mark and also the design number 887-12.

The pot features a light coloured clay base that has been moulded into a slightly bell shaped body with moulded ovals around the bottom and lip areas and raised flowers and scallops around the middle of the pot. The base has then been stipple glazed with a semi-matt/satin sheen mix of pale green, brown and cream colour that highlights the moulding. The floral part of the design has been highlighted and decorated with a rich chocolate brown and olive high gloss glaze. This green glaze changes shade in different lights and looks quite bright and luminous in sunlight and a darker olive green indoors under electric light.

The floral design is duplicated on opposite sides of the pot.

The inside of the pot and centre of the exterior base of the planter is glazed in a matching dark brown gloss glaze.

This pretty little pot measures approximately 12cm tall and 6cm diameter across at the base and 14cm diameter across the top.

Overall the pot is in very good used vintage condition. There is a tiny superficial chip to the glaze on the top edge of the pot but this is only noticeable on very close inspection.

Please look at the video and photographs carefully as these also form part of the description for this lovely pot.
