Vintage 1970's Murano style handmade coloured speckled glass basket vase / pot - for presenting cocktail sticks, olive picks, tea spoons

A pretty and unique hand made blue glass basket with a speckled and drawn multicoloured melted glass inclusion layer inside. This lovely little item is typical of the 1970's art glass style and has been completely hand made. It is in the Italian Murano style, but other similar items have been attributed to manufacture in Romania and glass makers from many countries were manufacturing similar items during this time period. There is no maker's mark and so the origin is not known.

This lovely piece has a pretty pale blue colour and has inclusions of melted red, blue and yellow glass with a white glass background. It is very pretty and quite striking. It would be lovely just as an ornamental piece, however it could also function as a pot for small items of tableware, such as cocktail sticks, pickle forks or spoons at a buffet. It could also be used for small floral arrangements.

The basket measures approximately 10.5cm across the widest part of the handle and is approximately 19cm tall in total.

It is in lovely vintage condition with no damage, although it does have lots of tiny bubbles from the manufacture process in the glass.
