Striking desert scene vintage original acrylic framed painting on stretched canvas

This is a nice sized, striking original painting, signed and dated, originating from the UAE. The painting depicts a stylised horse and rider, both in Arabian style dress riding across a sandy desert on the outskirts of a towering stylised town.

The lemon and lime fruit are there in the photograph to aid with scale.

The painting appears to be in acrylic and has been composed onto a stretched canvas that bears a back stamp suggesting the painting originated in Dubai. On the front of the painting there is a signature and the date 97.

The colour palette is highly evocative of the dusty orange, brownish ochre sand and the artist has captured the sense of movement in the robes and the dry, dusty desert ground under the horse's feet. The buildings behind are highly suggestive of the curves and lines of old Arabian buildings rising from the desert.

It has been framed in a nice warm dark rosewood/mahogany toned wood effect frame and has a string style attachment for hanging.

The outer frame measures approximately 66cm x 56cm x 2.5cm deep. The frame width on the face of the painting measures approximately 4.2cm.

The overall condition of the piece is good, but there are signs of age and storage related minor damage. The paint is in good condition and none is missing although there are a couple of areas where the paint has crazed slightly. The canvas of the painting has lost some of its tightness and where it has been stored at sometime with other artwork it has picked up some indentations from the canvas stretching frame beneath and a couple of other small creases and marks, including a small circular stretch mark in the top left hand corner. The frame has also picked up a few minor surface scratches and indentations. The painting has some dust and dirt from storage on the canvas, both front and back.
