A beautiful little ceramic vase believed to date to the 1970's. This lovely little vase has been hand painted with a floral design featuring a sunflower. The colours are earthy with shades of green, pink, yellow and brown. The colours are really bright yet mellow, and have been hand painted on a satin eggshell like base. The rim of the top and the foot on the base of the vase have both been treated with a colour glaze in a greenish blue that compliments the decoration of the floral design.
The shape is very tactile and it feels nice to hold, as well as lovely to look at.
The base has a hand painted maker's mark that reads 1041 flora gouda Holland Rio. Over the top of this there is still part of an original paper sticker and the words 'original' and 'hand' can be made out.
The vase is in excellent vintage condition with no sign of damage. The unglazed foot rim on the base shows some age related discolouration.
This beautiful little item measures approximately 9.4cm tall and 7.5cm at the widest point. The aperture in the top of the vase measures approximately 2.5cm.
A perfect little gift, a bright and unique piece of hand painted pottery that would look pretty on a small shelf or nook and could also be used as a small vase or for dried flowers and grasses.
Please look carefully at all of the photographs and the video as these form part of the description and help show condition, scale and colour.
