Wonderful Korean made vintage brass elephant ring tree or ornament

A wonderful, vintage, Korean, heavy brass elephant. This lovely item still has the manufacturer's sticker on the base which reads 'Brass' and 'Made in Korea'. It is believed to date from the later part of the 20th Century between 1970 and 1990. The elephant stands with its trunk raised and with one foot forward as if walking. It has been well made and weighs just over 900g.

It measures approximately 20.5cm tall, 18cm wide and 18.5cm long. The brass has been left in its aged condition and has not been cleaned, creating a lovely soft metallic golden sheen rather than a bright polished finish.

The elephant is very tactile and feels smooth and curvaceous with a nice weight to it.

It was most likely originally made to be ornamental but it would make a perfect jewellery stand and rings could be stored on the trunk and tusks, with the ears making ideal places to hold bracelets.
