These beautiful old egg cups were made in England by Copeland and Garrett in the early to mid 1800's making these lovely items over 180 years old. The egg cups are in good condition overall, although one has suffered some damage with a small hair line crack and small chip and a flake of green paint on the pattern missing, as shown in the final photograph. The gold gilding on the rim is worn on both items. There are a few little discoloured inclusions in the clay/glaze. The pattern has been hand painted on the front and back of each egg cup. Considering their age and intended use, they have been well preserved. Both egg cups are stamped and also numbered by hand.
The egg shown is a standard large hen's egg. The eggs cups are approximately 4.8cm tall and 5.5 cm across the widest point.
This listing is for the pair of Copeland and Garrett egg cups only. All other items in the photographs are for display or size comparison purposes only and are not included.
Please look at all of the photographs and the video as these form part of the description and help to show scale, colour and condition.
All items are very carefully wrapped for transit and normally dispatched within one or two working days. Returns are accepted, however any return postage costs are to be paid for by the buyer and a full refund will only be given once the item has been received back in its original condition.
