A lovely vintage Satsuma ware style plate, believed to date to the 1950's. This pretty and quite vibrant plate is marked as made in Japan on the base with a maker's mark. The plate is made from very light weight, thin clay hard and has been hand painted and enamelled. On very close examination it does have a small indent in the centre as if it was originally made as a saucer.
The plate is quite eye catching and would make a nice decorative item on a wall or shelf, it is also a useful size to use a trinket plate for catchall for keys etc on a hall table.
The plate measures approximately 11cm diameter and stands approximately 1.6cm tall.
Overall the plate is in good vintage used condition with no chips or cracks, however there is wear on the gilded rim and some loss to the enamelling on the design details. The porcelain itself has some discolouration on the back.
Please look carefully at all of the photographs and the video as these form part of the description and help to show the condition, colour and scale of the item.
