A pair of magnificent Paragon bone china china twin handled, footed, soup bowls in the green "Honiton" design. These beautiful bowls are an absolute delight to look at and are highly decorative. they would make beautiful decorative items or cabinet pieces.
These lovely little bowls are marked on the base with the manufacturers mark and also with the Royal warrant of Appointment for the Queen (Future Queen Mother Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon) and Queen Mary. This Royal warrant was granted in 1938 so these items are believed to date from between 1938 and 1952. Both are hand finished and the gilding and transfer designs are in very good vintage condition. On casual observation these items look immaculate, however when examined very closely there are a few things to mention. Firstly both bowls have a little pre-firing crack near one handle. One of these clearly has glaze covering the crack and can be clearly seen to have happened prior to glazing and firing, the other one is less obviously so. These have tiny hairline cracks running from them. There is also an additional tiny hair line crack running down from the rim on one of the bowls. These are only visible on close inspection and are not noticeable from the top of the bowls.
Please look at all of the photographs and the video as these form part of the description and help to show colour, scale and condition.
These lovely bowls measures approximately 5.5cm tall and 16cm across the two handles at the widest point and 11.8cm diameter across the lip of the bowl.
