A wonderful, hand painted and made Welsh stoneware goblet made in Cardiganshire. This beautiful item is believed to date from the 1970's or early 80's. The stoneware clay base has a lovely oatmeal colour with speckles of darker flecks and has been glazed in a gloss finish. The underside of the foot is unglazed and stamped with the maker's mark. The goblet has a slightly rough stone like feel to it and there are small ridges in the clay that make it interesting to hold and use. It has a nice weighty feel tot it.
The item has been finished with a rustic resign of bands and circles.
A lovely item for display or use, perfect for historical themed homes, role playing or ceremonial purposes. It is in very good vintage condition with no damage.
This is a handmade item and there are a few minor irregularities from manufacture. These include a couple of small discolourations in the base of the bowl, an irregularity in the clay on the stem and irregularities on the design and density of paint.
It holds approximately 200ml and measures 12.8cm tall, 8.5cm across the top diameter and 7.2cm across the foot.
Please look at all of the photographs and the video as these form part of the description and help to show scale, colour and condition.
