Basset Hound glazed, hand painted, china dog figurine - mid century, large

This handsome hand painted, vintage, glazed china Basset Hound dog figurine is believed to date to the mid 20th Century. He has sustained a foot injury at some time in the past and has had a sympathetic repair performed to his front left foot. This is only noticeable on close inspection and can be seen in the last couple of photographs.

This lovely boy would make an unusual vintage gift for a dog lover and is large enough to have impact, yet small enough to fit on a narrow shelf without taking up too much room.

He measures approximately 22.5cm long, 11cm across the widest part and is 15.5cm high to the tip of his tail.

It is in lovely vintage condition overall, although there is age related glaze crazing throughout and the repair to the front left foot, as can be seen in the photographs.
