This lovely little vase literally sparkles in the light. It would make a perfect little gift with a small potted plant placed in the top!

It is beautifully made in a gemstone type shape and has been decorated with different stripes of high gloss and lustre glaze in bright colours. These contrast strongly with dark brown background glaze. To finish off, the potter has painted the outer rim of the pot with a mirror shine metallic gold coloured gilding. It is really lovely and quite fascinating to look at all the different effects within just one small item. It has been made with such attention to detail and care. The vase is believed to have been made in the 1970's in West Germany by Jasba. There is some embossed writing on the base which may relate to the design number.

The lovely little vase has been photographed under natural light outdoors and also against a couple of different backgrounds to try and show it to its best advantage, as it is just so pretty in real life.

It is glazed to a very high gloss giving a mirror like finish. The colours are lovely, with a vibrant bright orange, rich red, lime green added to the browns and brilliant white glaze. Some of these areas have then received a lustre glaze adding extra shine and sparkle to the piece.

It doesn't need to have a purpose, it is just so pretty to look at, but it could look stunning used to hold a small potted succulent or used as a vase to display a small posy of flowers. Alternatively it could be used as a small trinket pot.

The pot is in excellent vintage condition. It has a few minor superficial scratches to the glaze from its age and there are a couple of tiny areas where the gold rim is no longer perfect but these do not detract from its beauty.

It measures approximately 6.1cm high and 7.5cm in diameter across the widest part of the belly.

The base measures 3.5cm and the internal diameter of the mouth of the pot is approximately 4cm.
