A lovely hand made, free form, signed, vintage piece by Mtarfa Glass Blowers, Malta. This pretty vase has a nice rustic, simple form finished with a wonderful earthy brown and yellow colouration on the inside. It has a satiny, slightly rough feel to the outside that feels like aged sea glass. Mtarfa glass was founded in the late 1970's by Paul Said, the brother of the Mdina glass company owner Joseph Said. Mtarfa became known as Valletta Glass towards the end of the 20th Century. This piece still carries a price label which partially obscures the engraved signature of the glassmaker on the base.
A beautiful and interesting piece that looks lovely empty and can be stood in a small space and still give height and visual impact.
It is a nice size for making a statement in a small space and measures approximately 30cm tall, 6cm wide and approximately 6cm deep.
It is in very good vintage condition with no damage and retains the original maker's gold coloured sticker on the face.
