Vintage circular ceramic flower frog for floral arrangements - sustainable, reusable, eco friendly, elegant, early to mid 20th century

Flower frogs - these were used in years gone by in the base of vases, rose bowls and urns to help maintain the shape of floral arrangements before the time of oasis and other such media. They are often glass or ceramic, but I have also seen ones made from wire. This one is made from glazed ceramic and is in very good overall condition with the exception of a couple of glaze chips, as seen in the photographs.

There are usually several flower frogs available in separate listings in the shop at any given time.

This frog is a round, heavy, flattened, ceramic cream one - it does not carry any markings or makers marks so its origin is not known. It is glazed in a light cream gloss glaze and has 6 holes. The holes are approximately 1cm diameter.

It measures approximately 10.5cm diameter at the widest part and 7cm across the bottom. It stands 2.7cm tall. It is in very good condition except for a shallow chip and a small glaze chip on the top edge. The frog has been run through the dishwasher and and is in lovely clean condition ready to use.
