This pretty reproduction Chinese Majolica style teapot was made purely as a decorative item and is not suitable for use as a teapot since the spout and body do not interconnect. I'm not sure if this was deliberate or if they simply forgot to poke the strainer holes through from the body to let the tea out of the spout during manufacture. Either way it is a very pretty decorative piece that would look lovely on a shelf or window sill. It has been hand painted in highly coloured glaze and decorated with colourful berries, flowers and leaves. It is very rustic but pretty and this is part of the old looking charm. At some stage in its life it has sustained some minor damage and has had the tip of the spout glued back on.
Overall, with the exception of the damaged spout tip, it is in good condition with no other damage.
The teapot measures approximately 16.5cm tall, 13cm wide and 21.5cm long.
This listing is for the lidded teapot only. All other items in the photographs are for display or size comparison purposes only and are not included.
