Pretty and quirky 20th Century crested / motto ware old arm chair by W & R Carlton China, Staffordshire - coat of arms for Chatham

A lovely and highly collectable miniature crested ware / motto ware item, believed to date to the early - mid 20th Century. It is titled ' the old armchair' and has a little motto on the seat and the coat of arms style crest for Chatham, Kent on the chair back. The colouring has been hand applied over transfers and there is some light and patchy hand applied gilding around the edges of the chair in places. A pretty and decorative little item.

It measures 11.5cm tall and carries the maker's mark on the base.
