  • Details
A wonderful and heavy handmade art glass bowl created out of thick colourless glass with a graduated green dyed pinched and scalloped edge. A frill of thick amber glass has been shaped and attached underneath. The base has a ground down spot, most likely where the pontil scar was, which enables the curved base to sit flat and be stable. There is an internal fracture that is not easily noticed, cannot be felt on the outside of the glass and may be from the time of manufacture on one of the high points of the scallop shape - this is shown in the last photograph and is reflected in the low price. It is believed to date from the 1960's but has no maker's mark and the maker is unknown. The bowl is in very good condition, with a few minor superficial scratches, as would be expected for an item of it's age, especially where it has been stood on the base.

The rim of the bowl is shaped like a scallop shell. It is quite heavy and weighs approximately 1.35Kg. The bowl measures approximately 23cm long, 22cm wide at the widest point and 7cm tall at the tallest point. This listing is for the bowl only. All other items in the photographs are for display or size comparison purposes only and are not included.

Please look at all of the photographs and the video as these form part of the description and help to show scale, colour and condition.
