Stunning Mediterranean inspired vintage Italian Castel Durante handmade bowl

A beautifully crafted and decorated handmade Italian bowl from Castel Durante. This lovely footed bowl has been used in the past as a piece of wall art decoration and is wired ready to hang, however it is fully functional as a stunning serving bowl. It has created with a small bowl and a wide decorated rim and bears the makers name.

The colours are just stunning. The blue on the rim is a vibrant cobalt colour and has been applied over the top of the white glaze. Areas of the blue has then been scraped away in a Sgraffito type process to expose swirls of white glaze. Some of these have then been over glazed in yellow.

The central bowl is a lovely shape and features a floral pattern in yellows and blues.

It is very lovely and in excellent vintage condition.

The entire bowl measures approximately 20cm in diameter and stands 3cm high. The central bowl area measures approximately 10.5cm in diameter. The tomatoes shown in the photo are a cherry plum variety but they are one of the larger cherry tomato varieties.
