Rare and lovely mid century Henriot Quimper hand painted French plate

A lovely example of a post war mid-century 1940's-50's Henriot Quimper hand painted plate. This lovely plate has been hand painted in a palette of yellow, black, green and orange/aubergine and is signed on the back. It has been hand decorated with a central floral design and combines a visually simple but strong impact ringed outer margin to the plate with an intricate hand painted inner margin. It is quite striking.

It is in overall good condition for its age, although there are a few very tiny chips to the black margin of the plate mainly on the underside, and a few areas where the glaze has some discrepancies from manufacture and a few small areas of scuff to the glaze. There are a few superficial small scratches due to use and the top glaze shows some crazing on close inspection.

This would make a worthy addition to any Henriot Quimper collection and its striking assembly of colours would make it a very decorative addition used as wall art.

The plate is measures approximately 24.6cm in diameter. There is another listing for another Henriot Quimper plate in this flower series, however this has sustained some damage and has a larger chip in the rim and so is being offered separately.
