Early 20th Century Art Deco style, hand decorated, Gladstone china cake plate

Beautiful and unique Gladstone China early 20th Century Art Deco style hand decorated cake plate. This lovely plate measures approximately 22.2cm diameter from flat edge to flat edge and 24.3cm across the wider part of the curves. The makers' back stamp suggests that this piece was made between 1924 and 1939.

The plate has a nice shape to it and has been hand painted in soft shades with a vivid raised orange accent. The rim of the plate has been painted green to match the leaves and each of the big flowers has 3 dots in the centre to symbolise the stamen. I rather think the artist has arranged some of these to look a bit like little faces which gives the plate added interest.

This lovely plate is in very good vintage condition with some signs of use but no crazing, chips or cracks.

It would make a unique gift and would lovely on the table with its pretty spring like vibes.
