Quirky, collectable and unique antique 'Toby jug' style little bowl or jug made by Charles Allerton & Sons in the early 20th Century, most likely between 1912-14. It could be used as a little bowl but could also be a double sided jug for pouring cream or milk as the hat shaping on the lip also serves as a spout for pouring. A very pretty and traditional styled item with a lovely shape. Each one is hand painted and therefore has its own unique look about it. This charming little jug measures approximately 6.2cm across the widest point, is 7.8cm long and 4.5cm tall. It holds approximately 110ml.

The colours are beautiful and vibrant. The inside is glazed white and is clean and un damaged. The decorator has completed the item using a gold enamel paint and there are a few little stray splashes of this on the inside of the pot.

The bowl is marked on the base with the manufacturer's mark and although the jug is in lovely condition it has unfortunately sustained a chip on the underside of the rim on one side. Being a double sided face it is not visible if the chip is turned to the back and it is still a charming and delightful little antique item.

This listing is for the Toby jug only. All other items in the photographs are for display or size comparison purposes only and are not included.
