Pretty vintage hand made ceramic candle/tea light cover or fairy light holder

Very pretty and unusual handmade vintage ceramic candle or tea light cover. This is a lovely piece of vintage pottery. It has been made with a lovely curvy lattice work shape to allow the light and heat to pass through, but has been beautifully painted so that it is also beautiful to look at when it is not in use. It has a bit of a mediterranean feel to it with the blue wavy lines and grape motifs at the bottom.

The age and manufacturer of the item is not known but it is believed to date from the 1970's. It would be perfect with a battery operated tea light or filled with fairylights.

The candle cover accommodates a standard size tea light candle as shown in the photograph, but could also be placed over a taller candle. It would look lovely on a patio table or could be used on the dining table with a suitable flame proof tile or base beneath.

The condition is very good, although there is some minor crazing in the glaze that can be seen when examined closely.

It measures approximately 17.5cm high and 10.5cm in diameter at the widest point. The round base measures 6.2cm in external diameter and 5.8cm in internal diameter.
