Interesting film book 'Masterworks of the German Cinema' featuring 4 screenplays and black & white photoplates

A rare and interesting hardback book featuring 4 pieces of 1920 and 1930 German theatre work in English language. This book was published by Lorrimer in 1973 and contains 'two of the greatest early German fantasy films and two 1930's crime films'. It contains 32 stills and a critical appendix of the works. There are 300 numbered pages.

This interesting book is a perfect gift for early 20th Century film buffs and actors. It contains 4 works;

Nosferatu - Murnau

The Threepenny Opera - Pabst

The book still has its original dust jacket which is in generally good condition. It has a small triangular tear with missing paper. The edges of the dust jacket are a little tatty and the bottom inner flap of the front dust cover has had the bottom corner cut off. The whole cover has a some minor scuffing and signs of use and storage.

The book itself is in very good vintage condition and shows only minimal signs of age and use. The pages are all straight with no writing or marks. The pages are thick cream paper and it does have a slightly 'old book' smell to it.
