Gorgeous vintage white glazed water jug or vase. This lovely jug has a satin finish to the exterior and gloss glaze inside. The exterior is slightly more creamy white than the inside and is decorated with a raised pattern of scrolls. The handle has been made and applied separately and it has a nice wide 'v'shaped spout. The jug has a slightly tapered design and is wider at the base than the top giving it a good stable base.
The age and manufacturer are not known but it is thought to date from the 1980-90's. It is in lovely condition with no damage and minimal signs of use. There are a couple of minor blips and glaze bubbles from the time of manufacture but these are very insignificant and add to the slightly rustic charm of the piece. It looks great as a decorative item as well as doubling as a jug and vase.
It is well made and weighs over 1kg empty. It measures approximately 18cm tall and 18cm from the tip of the spout to the back of the handle.
It has a capacity of approximately 1700ml.
I test all of my teapots and jugs for pour quality and this one pours well if not too full. If very full it pours out too quickly of the wide spout and will dribble.
Please look at all of the photographs and the video as these form part of the description and help to show scale, colour and condition.
