Beautiful vintage Celtic cross style brooch

A very pretty and elegant medium sized Celtic cross style brooch. This lovely little item gives off primitive style/gothic vibes yet is small enough to be used as an everyday piece. It is believed to date to the 1980's.

It has a lovely, elegant shape with a cut and polished stone effect detail set into heavy looking claws. It looks and feels like a piece of vintage Scottish Miracle stone jewellery, however it is likely younger than this and when examined closely on the back it can be seen that it is actually made of stone effect painted glass set within a pewter effect metal base with a glass 'Emerald' type stone. There are no maker's marks so its origin is not known. It has a subtle sparkle and is very elegant and dainty. Perfect for elevating a neck scarf or shawl, or simply worn as a piece of stand alone jewellery on a winter jumper or jacket. It is a very pretty item that looks lovely in a trinket dish.

Condition wise it is in excellent vintage condition with no damage but this is an old piece and some minor signs of use are to be expected. It is fastened using a safety fastening pin.

It measures approximately 3.6cm long, 2.6cm wide and 0.6cm deep.
