Beautifully elegant vintage cameo style ornate gold tone scarf clip ring

A beautifully elegant vintage scarf ring/clip featuring a cameo style insert set in an ornate filagree oval shape gold tone setting.

Perfect for showing off a wide range of scarf wearing styles and suitable for a wide range of scarves.

This lovely scarf clip/ring is a versatile addition to your accessory collection and would also look lovely as a brooch type accent clipped to a 'v' neck line.

It looks simply stunning against a dark or light background and is a nice neat size so it does not overwhelm finer light weight fabric scarves and shawls.

The scarf ring/clip is made of heavy gold tone metal which has a realistic old gold colour and a non tarnish finish. The cameo style insert appears to be made of resin or plastic and features a lady's head and shoulders in raised relief in a white colour overlaying a coral like colour base.

The back of the scarf ring/clip has a sprung hinged round shaped ring which would be more suited to finer fabrics but still has room for a reasonable amount of fabric to pass through and be gripped securely.

The angle of the ring is such that the underside of the ornate gold front fits into the hole slightly and this helps to secure even light weight and fine material safely. The hinge is nice and strong and allows a good strong grip between the hinge and the ornamental part of the scarf clip/ring. The ring itself is a brass coloured wire type ring, as can be seen in the photographs.

The scarf clip/ring is believed to date to the 1960's and is in good vintage used condition. There is no makers mark.

It measures approximately 3.5cm long (excluding the clip) and 2.7cm wide. It is approximately 1.2cm thick from front to back including the hinged clip at the back.

The round shaped ring at the back measures approximately 2.2cm long (including the cut out at back of the hinge) and 1.7cm wide across the inside of the hole where the scarf can be fed through.
