A lovely vintage piece of Royal Albert Paragon china in the style of Elgin.
Elgin features a bright finely ribbed white bone china base with a dark green, gold filigree patterned rim. It is a timeless and elegant design and is no longer manufactured.
This bowl is known as the soup/cereal bowl. It is larger, deeper and more rounded at the base than the fruit bowl/saucer. At the time of listing there is also a fruit saucer/bowl offered on a separate listing that is shown in the final photograph. Please note this listing is for the cereal/soup bowl only.
The bowl measures approximately 16.8cm diameter and 4.9cm tall.
Condition wise the bowl is in very good, almost pristine condition, there are a couple of tiny superficial scratches inside the bowl on the bottom but these are only noticeable with very close inspection and in certain light. The crown on the maker's mark has been ablated, suggesting this was a second. Looking carefully at the bowl there is no sign of any obvious defect or damage and the only reason I can attribute to this is that the gold on the rim of the bowl is a millimetre or two too narrow to cover the underside of the rim and perhaps less crisp and defined. This can be seen in the photographs.
Please look at all of the photographs and the video as these form part of the description and help to show scale, colour and condition.
