A lovely slightly size mismatched pair of antique Booths, England ewers in their beautiful Summer Rose design. These are believed to date from the late 1890’s - early 1900's and are in very good condition for their age, although both have a small amount of damage. They are both marked Royal Semi Porcelain and have the maker's mark on the base. They are very slightly different sizes as listed below.
This beautiful old design is quite intricate. It features a two tone blue design of roses, with two tone blue swirls and waves around the base, top and handle. They are glazed in white inside and beneath the pattern, however there has been some colour bleed from the blue into the white which gives they a lovely aged, slightly greyish tinge.
The larger of the two measures approximately 21.3cm tall and holds approximately 950ml. The smaller ewer measures approximately 20cm tall and holds a little less at approximately 920ml.
Overall they are in really nice condition, however both have suffered some damage. The larger ewer has a fine hairline crack to the side of the spout and also a chip inside the jug near the handle top. The smaller ewer has a small chip on the underside of the spout on the outside. These can be seen in the photographs. Both ewers have small firing cracks on the base inside the jug, but these does not pass through into the outer of the jug.
These are very pretty old jugs that would be perfect used as water jugs at the table, or could be used as flower jugs. They look so pretty that they make great decorative pieces even when not in use.
Please look at all of the photographs and the video as these form part of the description and help to show scale, colour and condition.
