A fabulous, quirky and very different pair of 1970's Cinque Port Pottery, Rye hand painted salt and pepper shakers in the style of hooded monks. Very striking pieces and quite large and imposing. Wonderful talking point at the table and a very unique and unusual gift. This design is believed to have been in production in the 1970's and they are marked CPP RYE on the base. They are in lovely condition and would make an unusual statement piece on a shelf or table, or a really quirky gift. There is a little bit of glaze crazing when examined closely.
These lovely shakers feel wonderful to hold and are filled via a plastic stopper on the base. Each measures approximately 7.5cm wide at the base and stands 18.5cm high.
These are vintage items and have been used but well cared for. There are minor signs of use, although generally in very good condition with no chips or damage.
This listing is for the pair of salt and pepper shakers only and all other items in the photographs are for display or size comparison purposes only and are not included.
Please look at all of the photographs and the video as these form part of the description and help to show scale, colour and condition.
