  • Details
A very pretty and elegant set of 3 small afternoon tea plates and matching cake plate dating from the late 1930's to early 1940's. These lovely plates were made for Harrods by Plant, Tuscan Works, in Longton, England. All are stamped on the reverse with the maker's mark along with painted marks from the gilders with what looks like a CL on two of them.

The larger cake serving plate has a squared outer shape and is little smaller than a standard modern dinner plate. It measures approximately 22cm edge to edge and 25.5cm across the longer diagonal, standing approximately 1.6cm tall. It is in very good overall condition, although there is a little bit of wear on the gilding around the outer edges and it has a slight warp in the shape, which gives it a rather charming, vintage and aged appearance.

The 3 small afternoon tea plates have a pretty scalloped rim and are all in very good vintage condition. There is some wear to the gilding around the outer edges of the plates. They measures approximately 16.2cm diameter and are approximately 1.6cm tall.

This listing is for the 3 small plates and matching cake serving plate only. All other items in the photographs are for display or size comparison purposes only and are not included.
