A very pretty lidded, hand painted conserve pot dating to the 1940's-50's. This lovely item would look so pretty on a breakfast table filled with jam or honey, but is also very beautiful just as a decorative item on a shelf. The pot is marked on the base with the manufacturer's mark and also is embossed with the design number 936. The pot is moulded to look like it is a woven basket and the fruits and flowers are raised and have been hand painted. It is very pretty. The lid has a notch for the spoon to sit (spoon not included) and is topped with a painted flower finial style lid handle. It holds approximately 330ml.
The lidded pot measures approximately 8.3cm diameter and 12.5cm high including the lid.
Overall it is in very good condition with no cracks or crazing. A couple of points to mention are that on the bottom edge there is a small blip where it appears the wet glaze was rubbed before firing. It could be a later glaze chip but looks more like it was a manufacturing blip. Additionally, there is a small black smudge on the glaze near the base. This looks like some glaze colour transfer from when the item was painted and stamped and will. not wash off Otherwise the item is in very good, undamaged condition.
