This absolutely gorgeous old Staffordshire ironstone teapot unfortunately arrived to me damaged in the post and so is being listed as for ornamental purposes only. It is so lovely and is such an unusual and striking shape. The pattern is 'Brixham' and it is believed to date to the early 1900's- 1920.
It has a pretty frilled pedestal base and pointed and pinched lid. There are strainer holes between the spout and the body and it is marked with the maker's mark on the base. The interior rim of the pot was unfortunately damaged in transit where the lid seats due to the lid being left on and rattling loose. I have left all of the pieces untouched inside and have not washed it incase its new owner wishes to repair it, but with the lid on the damage is not noticeable and it would make a lovely antique decorative item on a shelf. Overall, with the exception of the damaged lid seat, it is in good condition for its age with a few areas of glaze crazing on the outside and a little discolouration in the bottom of the pot.
The teapot measures approximately 16.5cm tall, 17cm wide and 27cm long.
This listing is for the 'Brixham' pattern lidded teapot only. All other items in the photographs are for display or size comparison purposes only and are not included.
Please look at all of the photographs and the video as these form part of the description and help to show scale, colour and condition.
