Pretty mid Century Japanese style set of 6 cups, saucers and tea plates - made in England 1950's style, red, black, gold - afternoon tea

A lovely and quite striking set of 6 mid Century china tea cups, saucers and tea plates. Made in England, this pretty tea set has a distinctly oriental style about it with red and black stylised bamboo leaves and gold gilding. The back of the cup has a smaller design in the same style. The set is in very good vintage condition. Generally the pattern is intact although there are a few areas where the pattern has some minor loss, similarly the gilding. There are one or two small areas of glaze crazing but this is minor. There has been some dye transfer on one or two items and these appear as dark smudges. This can be seen in the final photographs. Although generally in very good condition, these areas of age related use have been reflected in the price. The cups each hold approximately 220ml.

The cups measure approximately 7.4cm tall.
The plates measure approximately 17cm diameter and the saucers are approximately 14.2cm diameter.
