Fabulous vintage West German glazed ceramic 3 footed large bowl inspired by Brutalist design. The bowl has been fully glazed inside in a rich brown colour and then part glazed around the top part of the exterior to demonstrate a range of textures. The lower part of the bowl has been left as the natural matt clay finish with a speckled surface effect and the underside of the bowl has been left completely natural and unglazed or treated.

It was made by Vetter Keramik, who were manufacturing pottery in West Germany during the 1950's, 60's and 70's. The maker's mark, model number (66) and size (28cm) are moulded into the underside of the bottom. It stands approximately 12cm tall and is 28cm diameter across exterior of the rim, although it bulges out in the middle to approximately 31cm diameter. It is heavy, weighing in at around 1.8Kg empty.

This lovely bowl is in generally very good vintage condition although there are a few tiny glaze chips on the rim and a few areas of dirt on the unglazed clay. It does have a few small manufacturing quirks to mention. It is a bit wonky shape wise around the rim and clay beneath the glaze on the interior is rough, this may be intentional as they did experiment a lot with texture, but I'm not sure. The feet are hollow due to the slip casting process of manufacture.
