A lovely antique pair of hand painted and glazed porcelain figurines. They are hollow slip moulded and so do not carry the maker's mark, therefore the origin and age is not known, however similar items have been variously described as Victorian era and of English or German origin, but this is not known for sure.
They stand approximately 11cm tall and appear to be a matching pair. The faces have been hand painted and there are a few remaining areas of golden gilding on both items, although the gilding has largely gone. The boy figurine is in very good condition structurally, with no chips or damage. The girl figurine has two firing cracks that occurred during the manufacture of the piece, one on the very top of her head and another down the right hand side of her dress. These have been glazed over and happened as the fragile clay was drying in the kiln. There is also a small area of abrasion of the glazing on the front of her hair. This is not easily seen but can be felt.
This listing is for the pair of antique figurines only. All other items in the photographs are for display or size comparison purposes only and are not included.
Please look at all of the photographs and the video as these form part of the description and help to show scale, colour and condition.
All items are very carefully wrapped for transit and normally dispatched within one or two working days. Returns are accepted, however any return postage costs are to be paid for by the buyer and a full refund will only be given once the item has been received back in its original condition.
